Petition

Will the Government commit to allowing free and fair local elections in 2026?

Rejected 17 signatures

What the petition asks

One hundred years after the right to vote was granted to all adults in the United Kingdom this right is being eroded. Last year a wide number of local elections were postponed. There is a strong chance the Government will do the same this year. This will be the longest delay since WWII.
Will the Secretary of State announce in Parliament that they will not use their powers under the Local Government Act 2000, or any other method to delay, impede or otherwise cancel the planned Local Elections on May 7 2026?
