Petition

Reassess the ‘Special Relationship’ with the United States.

Rejected 20 signatures

What the petition asks

We call on the UK Government to distance itself from the United States’ current foreign policy platform and prioritise strategic alignment with European partners. As part of this reassessment, the Government should request the full withdrawal of United States Visiting Forces (USVF) from the UK.
The UK must take action due to:
US rhetoric regarding military intervention in Greenland—a sovereign territory of our NATO ally Denmark—threatens to collapse the North Atlantic alliance. The UK should not host forces for an administration that contemplates using military or economic coercion against fellow NATO members.
The Government must end the policy of appeasement and acknowledge that the UK's future lies in a sovereign, independent path aligned with Europe.
