Petition

Ban public sale of rodent poisons to protect wildlife and pets

Rejected 15 signatures

What the petition asks

Ban the public sale of rodenticide poisons and restrict their use to trained, licensed professionals only. Ensure that all pest control methods available to the public are humane, wildlife-safe, and environmentally responsible.
Rodenticide poisons cause slow, painful deaths and lead to secondary poisoning of wildlife such as owls, foxes and hedgehogs, as well as pets. These poisons contaminate ecosystems and food chains. Humane alternatives exist, including live traps, proofing and deterrents. Restricting poisons to licensed professionals in cases when absolute necessary will protect animal welfare, biodiversity and public health.
