What the petition asks
We call on the Government to fully implement all the recommendations of the First Do No Harm report; they must undertake a radical overhaul of the Medicines & Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) to ensure it is more patient-focused & transparent, & provide full redress for victims of harm.
The 2020 First Do No Harm report exposed decades of avoidable harm from Pelvic Mesh, Sodium Valproate, and Primodos. Key recommendations remain unfulfilled.
We urge the Government to:
Reform the MHRA: Overhaul the regulator to ensure it is patient-centric, transparent, and prioritizes safety over industry interests.
Redress Schemes: Provide financial support for victims
Transparency: Enforce a mandatory register of interests for all doctors.
Thousands of families are still waiting for justice.
