Petition
Automatic 50/50 Parental Custody Rights for Responsible Divorced Parents
Rejected
10 signatures
What the petition asks
We, the undersigned, call on the government to ensure that, in cases of divorce, both parents who are responsible, loving, and capable, with no history of abuse, neglect, substance misuse, or other harmful behaviors, are automatically granted equal parenting time with their children.
Making equal custody the default encourages fairness, reduces parental conflict, and ensures children have strong connections with both mothers and fathers.
We urge the government to update family law to reflect these principles, establishing equality, fairness, and the best interests of children as the foundation of custody decisions.
