Mandate education on female hormone brain health and ADHD in medical training.

What the petition asks
We want the Government to require UK medical schools and postgraduate training programmes to mandate training on the effects of female hormones on brain function across the lifespan including how hormonal changes can affect ADHD and other neurodivergent women and how this may present in females.
Female sex hormones affect every woman’s brain across the lifespan, influencing cognition, mood, attention, stress regulation and emotional processing; not just reproduction. Yet medical education focuses largely on fertility and pregnancy, with limited teaching on hormone-related brain effects. This gap leads to missed recognition, misdiagnosis and delayed care, particularly during perimenopause and in women with ADHD (often un recognised) whose symptoms often worsen with hormonal change.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
Medical education is the the responsibility of the General Medical Council and other professional bodies. We can therefore not allow your petition as it is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
