Petition

More help and support for SEN children & parents

Rejected 17 signatures

What the petition asks

Offer mainstream schools more help and support to understand SEN children. To help each individual child with their individual needs and not penalise them for having different needs or a disability.School should be a safe place where children grown not be failed!
I have just pulled my son out of mainstream school he is nearly 14 he has adhd and is on the autism pathway. He has been failed immensely by his school and has been made to feel he is crazy and worthless! He has been penalised because of his disability! This should NOT be happening ! How are these schools getting away with this?
I don’t just speak on behalf of my son I speak on behalf of every SEN child and their families. Every child and their families.

Every child has a right to an education!

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

I'm afraid this petition is unclear about exactly what you want the Government to do that it is not already doing (or says it's doing).

We do have some petitions already open on SEND issues which you may want to look at and possibly sign:

Provide more funding for children with SEN in schools - Provide more funding for children with SEN in schools

Provide funding for all schools to have a full time dedicated SENDCo - Provide funding for all schools to have a full time dedicated SENDCo

Mandate all teachers in mainstream schools receive SEN & mental health training - Mandate all teachers in mainstream schools receive SEN & mental health training
