Pass lifetime office bans for MPs & Lords who are guilty of financial misconduct

What the petition asks
Pass a law so MPs who are found guilty of financial misconduct under the law or in accordance with the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards and the Committee on Standards.
This would also apply to Lords who are guilty of financial misconduct under the law, are expelled from public office and receive a lifetime ban on holding it again.
We believe a strong, unequivocal measure is required to deter unethical financial behaviour. By implementing a lifetime ban on any MP or Lord found guilty of financial misconduct, no matter how small, from ever holding public office again, we believe we send a clear message: public office is a privilege, not a shortcut to personal enrichment. Legislation supporting this could aid in restoring public trust and confidence in our political system. ONE STRIKE AND YOU’RE OUT.
