Hold MPs Accountable: By-Elections if They Lie or Mislead the Public 3 Times
Open for signatures

What the petition asks
I want MPs held fully accountable for lying or misleading the public in any context - on social media, in interviews, speeches, or Parliament. Each lie could incur a fine, be logged in a public register, and if an MP accumulates three lies, a by-election could be triggered to protect democracy.
Lies by MPs erode public trust, spread propaganda, and threaten democracy. Misleading statistics, selective facts, or partial truths can be as harmful as outright lies. Holding MPs accountable through fines, a public register, and mandatory by-elections after repeated offences could ensure honesty, transparency, and that elected officials treat voters as their true employers. Truth in politics must be non-negotiable. There must be zero tolerance; any deliberate deception must have real consequences.
