What the petition asks
I call upon the UK Government to introduce legislation mandating that all media outlets ensure the content they produce, print, distribute, host or allow to be hosted on severs they have control over, is factually accurate.
Media Truth Law
Create a department, which has the power to compel outlets to remove content which falls foul of the requirements and demand public acknowledgement of the same. In addition to this, the department shall have the authority to award mandatory compensation, to similar levels, the individual or company would have received had they pursued legal action.

Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
We are not clear how this would be different to the role currently carried out by OfCom and IPSO.
