Petition

Update school uniforms, encouraging a shift away from formal business attire.

Rejected 10 signatures

What the petition asks

The traditional UK school uniform is no longer fit for purpose. While the intent of uniform is to provide equality and identity, the current "formal" execution creates unnecessary barriers to learning. Suits are outdated. We need sensory-friendly, inclusive active-wear that fits the modern world.
Traditional "suited & booted" uniforms are outdated relics. Rigid blazers, scratchy uniform fabric & ties create "sensory load" for neurodiverse kids and body confidence issues during puberty. If teachers don’t need suits to work, kids shouldn’t need them to learn.

We propose a shift to "active" uniforms: soft, breathable jersey fabrics, hoodies, joggers, and polo shirts. Let’s prioritise student wellbeing and focus on education, not enforcing uncomfortable fashion.
