Petition

Take the water industry out of private ownership

Rejected 9 signatures

What the petition asks

We call upon Parliament to create a cross party group to 1) explore mutualisation and alternative models to privatisation 2) provide feasible and costed models which also include strategies for long term water security
Water privatisation has failed this country and our rivers and seas. We have rising water bills, poor services, water outages, polluted rivers and beaches. Water companies have simultaneously created mountains of debt while huge profits are siphoned off overseas. The Government’s Water White Paper is a failed opportunity to take the radical action needed to protect our rivers and domestic water supply. The future of water should not be party political.
