Grant Chagossians the right to return to the Chagos Islands & fund restitution

What the petition asks
We believe the Government should revoke all removal orders which criminalise Chagossians who have returned to their homeland without a valid permit. We feel the rights of the Chagossians to live in their homeland, and to self-determination, must be respected.
Britain should allow Chagossians to return home and fund restitution for expelling them. We believe that if we want to use their land, we should pay the islanders, not punish them for what the Welsh would call hiraeth: the sense of incompleteness due to being sundered from one’s homeland. Any deal with Mauritius should embed the Chagossian right of return, full self-determination (including secession if wanted), and ensure that any cash paid by Britain is for the exclusive benefit of Chagossians.
