Petition

Stop Unreasonable Service charges for Leaseholders

Rejected 19 signatures

What the petition asks

I am asking the Government to introduce stronger legal protections to stop unreasonable and excessive service charges imposed on leaseholders. Current regulations allow managing agents and freeholders to increase charges without transparency, justification, or proper oversight.
Unreasnable services charges leaves leaseholders financially vulnerable and unable to challenge unfair costs effectively. I want Parliament to require full transparency in how service charges are calculated, to set clear limits on what can be charged and to establish an independent body that leaseholders can turn to when charges are disputed. The Government should also ensure that managing agents are properly regulated and held accountable when they impose unjustified or inflated fees.
