Petition
Stop the Government's Pilot Scheme to Pay Failed Asylum Seekers £10,000 to leave
Rejected

What the petition asks
Immediately halt and scrap the recently announced pilot scheme that offers failed asylum seekers - whose claims have been rejected and who have exhausted all appeal rights — up to £10,000 per person (capped at £40,000 per family) as an "incentive payment" to leave the United Kingdom voluntarily.
This represents an unacceptable and unjustifiable use of taxpayers' money.
This creates perverse incentives and undermines fairness — Offering substantial payments only to those who have already had their asylum claims refused risks sending the wrong message.
Focus instead on faster asylum processing, robust enforcement of removals for those with no right to stay, and measures to prevent abuse of the asylum system.
We deserve a migration system that is firm, fair, and protects public finances.
