Petition
Reduce VAT for the UK Hospitality Industry to Support Pubs, Cafés & Restaurants
Rejected

What the petition asks
Reduce VAT for the hospitality industry to help pubs, restaurants, cafés & hotels survive rising costs & protect jobs. The hospitality sector is facing unprecedented financial pressure from increased energy costs, supplier prices, staffing costs & taxation. Many are struggling to remain viable.
Reducing VAT on hospitality to 12.5% or lower, similar to the temporary rate introduced during the pandemic, would help businesses remain sustainable, keep prices affordable for customers & protect thousands of jobs across the UK.
Hospitality is a vital part of local communities and the UK economy. Without action, many businesses risk closure leading to job losses & empty high streets.
We urge the Government to reduce VAT for hospitality businesses to support the sector & safeguard its future.
