Petition

Stop the Sale of Trinity Methodist Church, Sarum Hill – a Historic Community Hub

Rejected 20 signatures

What the petition asks

Pause the sale of Trinity Methodist Church, Sarum Hill, and work with local authorities, heritage bodies, and the Methodist Church to preserve the building as a place of Christian worship and community service in the centre of Basingstoke.
Trinity Methodist Church on Sarum Hill has served Basingstoke for over 50 years as a place of Christian worship, community support, and children’s and youth activities.

The proposed sale would remove the last Methodist presence from central Basingstoke and permanently end its use as a community space. We call for urgent action to protect this historic site so it can continue serving as a centre for worship, community engagement, and support for children and families.

Why it was rejected

It was about a matter for a local council or devolved government, not the UK Government or Parliament.
