Allow People with Type 1 Diabetes to Serve in the UK Armed Forces

What the petition asks
We call on the UK Government to review Armed Forces recruitment policies to allow people with Type 1 diabetes to serve. Modern treatments enable individuals to meet fitness and performance standards. Eligibility should be assessed individually, not through automatic exclusion
Why is this important?
Excluding all people with Type 1 diabetes denies capable individuals the opportunity to contribute to national defence. It reinforces outdated perceptions and fails to recognise how far treatment and self-management have advanced.
A fair, evidence-based approach would ensure the Armed Forces can recruit from the widest possible talent pool while maintaining operational effectiveness and safety.
