Petition
Lift the UK student visa ban

What the petition asks
We call on the UK Government to reconsider the policies that place a ban on student visas for individuals from countries affected by war including Afghanistan, Sudan, Cameroon and Myanmar.
Education is a right to all and people shouldn't be excluded solely based on their nationality.
Education is a right to all and people shouldn't be excluded solely based on their nationality.
Education cannot be a privilege for the few, but rather a right for all. The "emergency brake" on sponsored study visas contradicts the values the UK promotes of fairness and inclusion. Policies like this risk penalising individuals for circumstances beyond their control, rather than recognising their potential to contribute positively to society. If a student meets the requirements to earn an offer from a UK university, their nationality shouldn't be the barrier preventing their learning.
