The 0.45 per mile (45p) rate is the UK HMRC approved rate for employees or sole traders using personal cars/vans for business travel,It is designed to cover fuel, maintenance, and depreciation, and is tax-free. This rate in today’s money does not even cover the fuel alone never mind anything else
