What the petition asks
To the Government and Members of Parliament,
The British public is issued a clear directive: the current taxation on motor fuel is no longer sustainable for the average household. We demand an immediate and significant reduction of 25% to 50% on the combined burden of Fuel Duty and VAT.

British families are being crushed by a "tax on a tax." With fuel duty at 52.95p plus 20% VAT, the state takes over half the price of every litre. This isn't just a tax on drivers; it’s a tax on food, work, and survival. It’s a blatant rip-off that fuels inflation and punishes the vulnerable. We demand an immediate 25-50% cut to duty and the removal of VAT from the duty portion. Stop treating motorists as cash cows. Give us a fair deal and let families breathe again. Cut the tax now.
