Petition
Make self defence mandatory for young girls in high school
Rejected
11 signatures
What the petition asks
It’s my aim to get self defence to be a mandatory part of learning for young girls in schools as young as 11. I want the government to review and implement this as a necessity in all high schools, for schools to teach it in every year group.
Violence against women and girls is at its highest than it has ever been before with 20% of recorded crime in England and wales is related to violence against women and girls. We need to build a society where girls are prepared in a situation where they would need to defend themselves and we can do this by teaching them from as young as 11 years old.
