What the petition asks
Legislate to ensure all UK employers and recruitment agencies must provide a clear outcome and constructive feedback to every applicant for an advertised role. This should include a mandatory response within a set timeframe (e.g., 30 days) and personalised feedback for those interviewed.
The current job market is increasingly difficult, with many applicants facing "ghosting" despite investing significant time in tailored applications. Lack of clarity leaves job seekers demoralised and hinders their ability to improve. Mandatory feedback would increase transparency, reduce potential discrimination, and help the economy by creating a more skilled and informed workforce. It’s time for the government to recognise that an applicant’s time is valuable.
