What the petition asks
We call on the UK Government to thoroughly review complaint-handling practices within public bodies and introduce stronger enforceable safeguards to ensure transparency, accountability, and proper record-keeping.
I am deeply concerned to have identified what seems to me to be a persistent and recurring pattern across multiple government bodies, including the Child Maintenance Service (CMS), Independent Case Examiner (ICE), and Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), where:
Legitimate concerns are not properly addressed
Accountability is repeatedly avoided
Complaints go missing
Complaints are closed without notification
Evidence is not properly retained
Records and notes appear to be amended
