Review & reform improved care and support for young hysterectomy patients

Open for signatures 52 signatures

What the petition asks

Review and reform care and support for young hysterectomy patients, including setting national standards for full, evidence-based information on hysterectomy risks, benefits, alternatives, as well as mandatory pre-operative counselling and access to specialist care and multidisciplinary teams.
There should also be structured, long-term follow-up support including hormonal, physical & mental health support.

We call on the UK Government to improve care for women offered hysterectomy for endometriosis and adenomyosis. Many are not fully informed of long-term risks, alternatives, or ongoing symptoms. We urge a review and reforms like mandatory pre-operative counselling, clear information for informed consent, and structured post-operative follow-up including physical, hormonal, and mental health support. Women deserve safe, informed choices and consistent long-term care.
