What the petition asks
Revise the PEGI ratings to also include "sexualisation" as a symbol for game ratings.
Research shows negative impact of sexualised characters in the media, particularly video games. Negative effects include violence against women, sexism, self objectification and negative self image (Karsay K, Knoll J, Matthes J. Sexualizing Media Use and Self-Objectification: A Meta-Analysis. Psychol Women Q. 2018 Mar;42(1):9-28. doi: 10.1177/0361684317743019. Epub 2017 Dec 15. PMID: 29527090; PMCID: PMC5833025.)
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
This is a matter for the Games Rating Authority - https://gamesratingauthority.org.uk/RatingBoard/ratings
