Petition
Change MP pay - pay should be pro rata based on their attendance in parliament.

What the petition asks
All MP’s should have their standard pay adjusted pro rata based on attendance in parliament for voting.
MPs should be accountable for their work. If I only turned up 50% of the time at work I would have my pay docked/be fired. An MP’s core duty should be to attend parliament to vote on the issues of the day. In other jobs people with additional responsibilities are expected to manage their time and attend their core duties, why can Mp’s get away with not voting in parliament?
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.
Decisions about pay for MPs are a matter for the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority, which is independent from the UK Government and Parliament.
