Introduce a legal minimum standard of provision for NHS clinical staff uniforms

What the petition asks
We are calling on the Government to set a legal minimum for the number of uniforms provided to all NHS clinical staff. Currently, thousands of frontline clinicians are provided with an insufficient number of uniforms—often as few as two or three sets—despite working full-time rotations.
We believe the current situation is not just a matter of staff comfort; it is a significant issue of patient safety and personal dignity. In a cost-of-living crisis, some staff are forced to run expensive, high-temperature wash cycles every single night just to ensure they have a clean kit for the next day’s shift and are frequently expected to provide their own clinical footwear at their own expense. Every clinician deserves a kit that is fit for purpose, safe, and fully funded.
