Reduce Article 3 medical leave route from 10 years to 5 years

What the petition asks
We call on the Government to reduce the 10-year route to settlement for those granted leave under Article 3 of the European Convention on Human Rights medical grounds to 5 years, as we believe this will ensure stability and humane treatment.
We call on the Government to amend Immigration Rules so people granted leave on Article 3 of the European Convention on Human Rights medical grounds can settle after 5 years instead of 10. In our view, the current system forces seriously ill individuals into repeated applications, high fees, and prolonged uncertainty, harming their health and wellbeing. A 5-year route could provide stability, reduce stress, and better reflect the UK’s human rights obligations.
