We believe this is unfair. Couples who wish to remain together and simply change their legal status should not be required to “end” their relationship in law, face long delays, or pay significantly higher costs.
This creates inequality between same-sex and opposite-sex couples and could place unnecessary emotional, legal and financial burdens on families.
