Respond fully to The Law Commission's recommendations on Surrogacy

What the petition asks
The Law Commission of England & Wales published its joint report with the Scottish Law Commission in March 2023, with recommendations for a robust new system to govern surrogacy. The Government gave an interim response on 8 Nov 2023. We want the government to publish a final response.
Current surrogacy law is out of date, yet surrogacy is becoming more common. The report outlines a new regulatory regime that offers clarity, safeguards and support for the children, surrogates and intended parents. The recommendations are accompanied by draft legislation.
The Government's response to the report is overdue.
The delay leaves families navigating uncertainty and contributes to unnecessary risk. A full response and a timetable for bringing the Bill before parliament would help.
