Introduce a Publicly Accessible Sex Offenders Register

What the petition asks
Introduce a public Sex Offenders Register. We believe "Sarah’s Law" is too reactive, and that communities deserve a proactive "right to know". In our view, transparency must outrank offender privacy and we demand an official, searchable database to empower parents and enhance safety.
We urge the Government to legislate for a publicly accessible Sex Offenders Register as I believe the current "Sarah’s Law" is reactive and insufficient; it requires parents to suspect a threat before acting. We believe that we need a proactive, searchable database that grants communities a "right to know" who lives among them, and that public safety and child protection must take priority over the privacy of convicted offenders. We think such a register could empower our neighbourhoods with transparency to prevent harm and enhance local safeguarding.
