Seek agreement with the EU to accept pet passports for UK-EU travel

What the petition asks
Seek to negotiate an agreement with the EU to allow UK residents who hold valid EU Pet Passports to use them for travel without needing an Animal Health Certificate (AHC). This would allow UK residents to travel with pets to the EU without repeated high fees and complex admin.
Recent changes prevent UK residents from using EU pet passports, forcing them to obtain costly Animal Health Certificates for each trip. This incurs costs for every journey and creates unnecessary stress and complexity. Dual nationals and frequent travellers are disproportionately affected. A year ago, the Government explored reintroducing a pet passport scheme but has since moved backwards. We believe this risks pet welfare and unfairly penalises responsible pet owners especially dual citizens.
