Review the use of digital technology in schools

Open for signatures 204 signatures

What the petition asks

Following the example of Sweden, we want the UK Government to review how digital technology is used in UK schools and restore a better balance between screens and traditional learning, include more use of printed books, handwritten work, and focused reading time, especially in early education.
Many parents and teachers are concerned that too much screen use could be affecting children’s focus, reading ability, and depth of understanding, as well as health.
Research has found that reading printed books and writing by hand supports better learning and memory than screen-based work. There is limited evidence that increasing classroom technology improves overall scores.
