Give tax breaks to racing bodies that stop horses being put down

Open for signatures 20 signatures

What the petition asks

Introduce tax incentives for racecourses, owners and trainers who take real action to stop horses being euthanised after injuries. This must include strict welfare standards, better veterinary care, and investment in research to save horses that would otherwise be lost.
Every year, horses suffer fatal injuries on UK racecourses and are euthanised in front of the public. These deaths are not just statistics—they are preventable losses that are turning people away from the sport. Without urgent change, racing will continue to lose support and decline. Rewarding those who protect horses will save lives, rebuild public trust and bring people back. A safer sport means stronger attendance, protected jobs and greater long-term economic benefit for the UK.
