Petition
Introduce a None of the Above option on UK election ballot papers
Rejected
11 signatures
What the petition asks
The Government should amend Schedule 1 of The Representation of the People (Ballot Paper) Regulations 2015 to introduce a "None of the Above" option on election ballot papers.
MPs on the Political and Constitutional Reform Committee wrote in its sixth report in 2015 in response to its call-for-evidence that over 70 per cent of respondents wanted a NOTA option.
Yet successive governments have failed to take into consideration the recommendations of that Committee or the overwhelming view of voters who want a NOTA option.
We want MPs to fully consider this simple change which will encourage greater trust and participation in our democracy.
