Mandate alcohol breathalyser and drug swab tests in House of Commons

What the petition asks
MPs should be banned from taking part in proceedings if they are found to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol whilst at work. Mandatory drug and alcohol testing is common in many professions. This is important for MPs as they are making decisions that shape the future of the nation.
Take for example the department of transport, would you expect a bus driver to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, would you expect an electrician responsible for electrical safety in your home, to be impaired by substances or alcohol?
Why should MPs be permitted to be an exception, when they can make decisions that may send your sons and daughters to war, or change your retirement age, increase your bills and decrease your standards of living. They should be absolutely sober at work.
