What the petition asks
We want the government to ensure individuals who work in the parenting space, advising on the health and wellbeing of infants, toddlers, children and families to be tightly regulated to prevent harm.
Introduce regulation for infant care and sleep advice providers, including mandatory standards for training courses and qualifications.
This should include:
Regulation and quality assurance of training courses and certification pathways
Recognised minimum qualification requirements
Supervised practical experience before working with clients independently
A requirement to follow evidence-based guidance aligned with NHS and public health recommendations
Oversight by an appropriate body
