Petition

Protect the environment and our heritage with small-scale Welsh coal mining.

Rejected 9 signatures

What the petition asks

Allow targeted UK mining to supply coal exclusively for historic steam railways, road steam, and heritage museums. Importing coal from thousands of miles away increases carbon footprints, raises freight costs, and threatens British industrial heritage. A domestic supply will protect this.
Importing fuel leaves historic vehicles and museums vulnerable to severe supply chain disruptions. High transport costs place an unsustainable financial burden on charity-run operations and private owners alike. Without action, beloved steam rallies, community heritage events, and living history tourism will disappear permanently. Sourcing high quality coal domestically lowers the overall environmental impact compared to overseas shipping and creates local employment.
