Mandate timebound reasonable adjustments and introduce appeals body
Open for signatures

What the petition asks
Mandate a time limit by which reasonable adjustment decisions must be made by an employer, following a request from an employee. We also call for any refusal to such a request to be made in writing with full reasons, and for an independent appeals body to be created to assist employees.
Many employees struggle to have necessary adjustments recognised and implemented in a timely manner, can experience cursory considerations of their requests by untrained employers, or may struggle to understand why an adjustment hasn't been considered reasonable, and have no clear process to appeal. We believe that these systemic shortcomings in how these requests are processed and responded to, result in employees not being able to sustain employment due to stress and forces others into grievance and tribunal processes.
