Review Emergency Veterinary Care for Birds and Exotic Pets in the UK

What the petition asks
Review the availability of 24/7 emergency veterinary care for exotic pets, including parrots and small animals. Exotic pet owners should have equal emergency support, clearer guidance, and more available emergency clinics to help prevent avoidable suffering and loss.
On 5 April 2026, I lost my beloved parrot, Twinkie. During an emergency, I struggled to find urgent exotic veterinary care in time. Many exotic pet owners across the UK face the same problem, with limited access to 24/7 emergency vets for birds and other exotic animals. It has now been 79 days, and I am still suffering with depression and heartbreak after losing Twinkie. No family should suffer this pain because emergency help was not available fast enough.
