Regulate Foot Health Practitioners to require supervision by HCPC podiatrists.

What the petition asks
We call on the UK Government to introduce legislation to regulate Foot Health Practitioners (FHPs), requiring that they do not practise independently and may only provide foot care services under the clinical supervision or governance of an HCPC-registered podiatrist.
The title “Foot Health Practitioner” is not statutorily regulated in the UK. This can lead to confusion for patients, including vulnerable groups such as people with diabetes and vascular disease who may not be able to distinguish between regulated podiatrists and un-regulated practitioners.
We believe that introducing a clear supervisory requirement would improve patient safety, ensure appropriate clinical oversight and provide clarity for the public about levels of training.
