Mandate working a/c and heating systems on all new public transport vehicles

What the petition asks
Heatwaves are becoming increasingly more frequent, so let's get working air conditioning and heating systems made a legal requirement before a new public service vehicle can go in to service.
The UK still has:
• no legal maximum bus cab temperature;
• no dedicated bus driver heat safety framework;
• no nationally enforceable cooling standards;
• no DVSA standards on excessive cab temperatures;
• and no nationally agreed operational heatwave procedures for the bus industry.
Things that will need to be considered are:
• driver cab cooling;
• occupational heat protection;
• climate control standards;
• fatigue management;
• and heatwave operational procedures.
Let's make change!
