What the petition asks
I urge Parliament to take decisive action by implementing a lifetime driving ban on those guilty of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and killing innocent people while under influence. Other countries have set precedents by enforcing stringent penalties.
We feel the current legal framework fails to deter repeat offenders and adequately protect innocent people. endangering more lives and communities.
We believe implementing a lifetime driving ban is about ensuring public safety, deterring repeat offenses, and sending a powerful message that our society refuses to tolerate such negligence. For the families affected, this legal change could offer a measure of justice and a chance to prevent others from enduring a similar tragedy.
