Enact mandatory onsite provision of mental health services in schools in England

What the petition asks

We want the Government to introduce a law that requires all schools in England to provide onsite mental health services for their students. We believe this would help in reducing the waiting list for CAMHS, and therefore make services quicker and more accessible to young people.

We feel it is necessary that children are able to receive both mental health support, without missing lessons. Going into school and not receiving the mental health care that they need will also affect the education and mental wellbeing of students.

Other parts of the UK, such as Scotland and Wales, provide mandatory counselling within all schools. However, there is currently no mandatory requirement for every school in England to provide onsite counselling.

Why it was rejected

There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.
