Review accountability & evidence standards in children’s social care

What the petition asks
Launch a review into children’s social care services in England which includes looking into strengthening evidence standards for decisions affecting families, improved independent review rights and correction processes for inaccurate records.
Social services make life-changing decisions for children & families. We feel stronger safeguards are needed to ensure professional opinion & working hypotheses are not treated as established fact without appropriate evidence, transparency & opportunities for fair review.
We call for clearer recording standards, stronger evidence requirements, independent review rights, improved processes to challenge and correct inaccurate records, formal written accountability for significant decisions and records, and greater accountability while maintaining effective safeguarding.
