Review Speed Limits for LGVs in the light of Modern Safety Standards

What the petition asks
Review national speed limits for light goods vehicles (vans) on single and dual carriageways. Current limits are based on data collected decades ago. Modern vans now benefit from significant advances in braking systems, stability control, crash protection, tyres, and driver-assistance.
We call on the Government to review and update national speed limits for light goods vehicles (vans) on single and dual carriageways. Current limits were set decades ago and we believe no longer reflect reality. Modern vans are safer now more than ever, thanks to major advances in braking systems (including Automatic Emergency Braking), electronic stability control, superior crash protection, advanced tyres, and driver-assistance technologies such as adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist.
