Amend the Pet Abduction Act 2024 to remove exemptions for having lived together

What the petition asks
We want the government to amend Sections 1 and 2 of the Pet Abduction Act 2024 to remove the exemptions from committing an offence which rest on the fact of having lived together
We want subsections 1(2) and 2(2) removed so that even if people lived together in the same household the offence of pet abduction is still committed if taken by one of those people. At present if the above happens it is a civil matter not criminal. Not everybody has money for civil action & it can be a lengthy process. We believe abusive partners/family are using this to their advantage.
