Fund direct discounts on repair bills for clothing & footwear

What the petition asks
We call the UK Government to introduce a British Repair Bonus: a practical, people-first discount that makes repairs more affordable for everyone. Modelled after France’s repair bonus, we want a government-backed discount applied, which is directly deducted from the repair invoice.
We want the British Repair Bonus applied to clothing and footwear. We feel that too often, repairing clothing and footwear costs more than replacing them, which can drive up waste and put pressure on household budgets whilst skilled tailors and cobblers struggle to survive.
We call on the Government to make repairs more affordable by funding a discount, and to include textiles within the UK's Right to Repair framework, in order to reduce textile waste, and support consumers & local businesses.
