Petition
Fund cooling and air-conditioning measures in schools during extreme heat.

What the petition asks
Provide dedicated capital funding for schools to install air conditioning, cooling systems, shade structures and other heat-mitigation measures to protect children and staff during periods of extreme heat.
Heatwaves are becoming more frequent and intense. Many school buildings were not designed for prolonged high temperatures. Excessive classroom heat can affect children’s health and “attendance”, wellbeing and ability to learn. Schools need funding to adapt their buildings and provide safe learning environments during extreme weather.
